The live webcam below shows the main square of Santa Claus Village and the Arctic Circle line, streamed by the City of Rovaniemi on its YouTube channel. It has been running since 2009 and it is the simplest way to answer three questions before a trip: is there snow, how dark is it at this hour, and how long is the queue outside Santa Claus Office.

Is the Santa Claus Village webcam live?
Yes. The City of Rovaniemi streams the main square and the Arctic Circle line live on YouTube; it has run since 2009.
Why is the webcam dark?
In December Rovaniemi has only two to three hours of daylight around midday; outside that window the square is lit by lamps. Check again between 11:00 and 14:00 Finnish time.
Can I see Santa on the webcam?
Occasionally, when he crosses the square; the camera shows the queue outside his office, not the inside.
